About Me

I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist with over 20 years experience working with men and women from all walks of life. Alongside my private practice, I am on the team of Training Therapists at the Psychosynthesis Trust, one of the UK's leading colleges of psychotherapy education and research. In this role I support psychotherapists in training. I also offer supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists and vocational coaching to individuals who wish to explore more authentic and rewarding ways to express themselves in and beyond their work.

My early career was spent working with international aid agencies. Time and again I witnessed the extraordinary creativity of the human spirit - our capacity to take hold of our lives and reshape them out of the rubble of suffering and disaster.

At a mid-life point I undertook a Masters degree professional training in psychotherapy with the Institute of Psychosynthesis. More recently I have undertaken a foundation training in Supervision with Re-Vision.

In my practice I am interested in psychotherapy as a creative process which has the potential both to challenge us profoundly and to open us to a richer dimension of our broader identity.

Whilst Psychosynthesis is the foundation of my approach, I also draw on Jungian insights into the role to the imagination as a doorway to the deeper dimensions of our being. I am passionate about our relationship to the natural world and inspired by insights emerging from within the growing field of ecopsychology regarding the connection between nature within us and nature around us.

Most important of all I believe in the importance of authentic, warm relationship as the context for healing. It is through relationship that the human spirit moves from preoccupation with survival to an experience of thriving.
